Claire Tabouret Solo Exhibition

If only the sea could sleep, Claire Tabouret with Aska Matsumiya & Alex Somers

HAB Galerie, Nantes

As part of the Voyage à Nantes 2019

Vidéo production : Dorothée Lorang & David Beautru

Composed a piece "Light Past Blue" with Alex Somers for Claire Tabouret's Solo exhibition "IF ONLY THE SEA COULD SLEEP" at Hab Gallery in Nantes Frances.

We created a piece that includes field recordings of the sea, boat croaking, chimes swinging in the wind - a feeling of being in the middle of the sea accompanied by cello melody performed by Gyda Valtysdottir and a harp performed by Mary Lattimore and sent it to 24 channel surround system separating each elements of the composition to intertwine and flow with the story of her paintings.

If only the sea could sleep. If only the music could quiet. If only the waves would rest...

This piece conjures our endless desire to be stirred by love and to be brought to a place of rest by love... Acknowledging the impossibility of these opposite forces and seeking harmony in and out of love...

Made in collaboration with Claire Tabouret, this music sails from one place to another. It is guided only by the melody inside of you that allows you to travel, explore, to lose yourself, and to find yourself... To find each other again and again in order to go further...

A love song.
